Why does diversity in healthcare matter?

Race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status, physical disability status, socioeconomic level all play a role in representation, acceptance, and progress both within and outside of a healthcare setting. With better representation reflected in healthcare providers, they are often better able to relate to, understand, and empathize with their patients.
